Coral Pink Sand Dunes- Utah

Winds blowing through a gap in mountains to the south deposit grains of Navajo sandstone in this valley to form these sand dunes. Covering about 1200 acres, it's a popular spot for dune buggy riders, and these same winds can quickly erase traces of any visitors. The winds on this day erased my approaching footprints, leaving only the area directly beneath the camera to retouch. Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is situated between Kanab and Zion National Park. To the east you'll find the remote areas of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, all areas with great views day or night. - Martin van Hemert
