A short but somewhat steep hike leads to this great overlook on the western edge of the park. I’d say more……… but the panorama (hopefully) says it all!

Capitol Reef National Park contains a maze of washes, gulches, ravines, and canyons (pick your favorite term). This unnamed gulch, which seemed the most appropriate term to me, is near the western entrance to the park:
The deep red sandstone of the Moenkopi Formation, creates a contrasting backdrop for the Utah Junipers found here. Capitol Reef, while not as well known or popular as other national parks in Utah, offers a wealth of intriguing scenery.
