Several canyons are found in the mountains that rise from the Salt Lake Valley floor. Some hold well known ski resorts, and each has its own unique atmosphere. Millcreek canyon is a narrow, slender canyon with an intimate feel, and has always made me feel like I've found some hidden gem.
Unlike Big Cottonwood Canyon immediately to the south, Millcreek has no ski resorts. It's a wonderful spot for hiking and biking. Dogs are allowed and can even be off lease on odd numbered days! - Martin van Hemert
