This seemingly remote location is actually quite close to Salt Lake City, and the city lights provided significant illumination for this night scene.

In Big Cottonwood Canyon, a spot that’s beautiful any time of year:
The lake is almost completely covered with snow in this view, with just a little spot peeking through. Sundial Peak above it is a local icon among hikers. A bit steep, but still a great summer or fall hike, in the snow I was reminded of the Brett Weston quote “Anything more than 500 yds from the car just isn’t photogenic”, and was hoping that would not be the case for me!
