Orderville Canyon

Orderville Canyon in Zion National Park is a side canyon which connects to the Zion Narrows, featured in our previous panorama.  These narrowest sections along The Narrows hike are what really make it worth going to a little bit of effort to get here:

My wife Karla has always felt these Southern Utah Canyons make one feel as though they were in a cathedral, and this was certainly the case here.  If you’re prone to claustrophobia, the sheer beauty of this place is a sure cure!

Thanks so much!

Martin

I enjoy all of your Utah photos, but there really is no place like Zion NP. I agree with your wife, though the entire park makes me feel as if I’m in church. Love getting your latest photos of one of my favorite places on earth.

Thank you Martin, good work and a lovely place! Nothing moves me quite as much as your starry night at Escalante, that’s the tops, so far! Thanks for all the beauty that you recreate! Kat

    Martin & Karla,
These are simply awe-inspiring. Truly magnificent and amazing photography. You should forward this to National Geographic. I’d be interested in knowing their response.

Beautiful! I love all the colors! Barely wide enough for your tripod! You will be up to your hips, or deeper, in water in June!

Hi Dennis, The Creator has created a wonderful home for us. I hope one day to visit Australia’s corner of it!

Hi Shirley, Thanks so much. The high waters of June are the reason I chose February!

Thank you Charlotte! While we promote the site to various entities, we have not considered National Geographic. We’ll have to give them a try.

Hi Angela, it’s interesting, but in my travels around the state, I’ve not seen much of Zion NP. I will have to explore it further.

    Thank You!

Love this hike. I’ve done it several times. 1st two times was in 1972 1973. We went as a scout troop. We were told we were the first large group to ever go up the canoyn. Back then we went up, I didn’t know you could go down it until I started doing it again in the early 2000′s. We spent three days doing the hike. Two night’s in the canoyn itself. I’ll have to scan my 110 photo’s that aren’t very good into a video and put it on youtube one of these days. Those were the good old days.UN:F [1.8.7_1070]please wait…

    Best,
